How To Get An Auto Loan With No Credit?

I have a 75% down payment for the car, but the remaining 25% I would have to get a loan for. It is a person selling the car… not a dealership. My problem is most banks are turning me away because I have no credit established. They say that I have to have a cosigner, but that isn’t an option for me because everyone in my family has really really bad credit. What can I do?

Take the 75% you have to put down, and buy a different car with it.
You will not get financing without a cosigner since you do not have credit and are trying to buy this through a private party.
Other option would be to just offer the person selling the car the 75% you have as the purchase price. Just because they are asking for a certain amount doesn’t mean they will not settle for less just to sell the car.
If they own the car outright, you might also be able to make a deal with them to carry the other 25% for 6 mos to a year for you.
