This is an excellent book on selling options on futures contracts. It explains the differences in Stock Options and Futures Options. Most investors never hear anything positive about selling options, this book uncovers the secrets— the brokers want you to buy, because they are selling them.

With no thought at all on what option to pick or at what price you have an 80% chance of being correct. With very little analysis and planing you can make a good income by selling options.

The difference with this type of investment is that it is an investment, not trading. It is slow and boring, but it does have good rewards. I recommend this book for anyone who thinks they want to control their own investments.

James Cordier & Michael Gross have put together one of the most complete explanations on options selling on futures ever written that even the layman can understand. Once you read this book you may well switch your portfolio from buying options on equities to the selling of commodity options….I know I did.

These are knowledgeable & most importantly honest brokers who have my enormous respect. Their firm Liberty Trading Group offers managed accounts to individuals & I can verify that they can bring you consistant returns rarely found in any other investment vehicle.

This book’s main focus is on the commodity space — author did a good job describing option selling within this space. book less useful from the perspective of the equity option seller however, book still worth the money. good book to have on hand.

The authors take a unique approach to selling options–simplicity. They have developed a method which is easy to understand and implement. Their approach to the subject matter is to follow a fully explained, step-by-step method of selling options. They inform the reader which options to sell and which to avoid. The method culminates with a profitable plan that will provide regular income on a monthly basis. Anyone interested in making money from selling options should put this book on the top of their reading list.

I picked the first edition of this book while browsing a chain bookstore. I could tell that it was written clearly in a no-nonsense style, so I bought it to read completely. This book is a detailed, thoughtful introduction to the dangers and rewards of selling naked puts in COMMODITIES not equities. Nevertheless, the parameters of risk that the author uses (studying the market and stock well so there are no surprises, very low trading activity, be happy with the boredom of time decay) also translate into selling puts on equities.

Anyone who is a trader or investor knows that many ‘investing’ books are only shills for the author’s trading service. This book is NOT a shill and provides a great introduction to the steady, slow, worry-free returns that can be obtained from selling far OTM puts. Though I am still searching for a decent book about equities puts, this book got me started on a profitable path. I will be purchasing the 2nd edition as soon as I am finished writing this review. Probably one of the best trading books I ever read.

This book is clearly written by an experienced trader. You will not find a lot of math or complex explanations. Even the greeks, volatility and similar are mentioned very little. But it does provide very useful information and advice, oriented to implement a sound strategy that works.

It does a great job demystifying the risks of selling option, which is usually that make retail trailers afraid of using this lucrative trading approach.

In other review, someone complained this book uses a lot future options as opposed to equity options. Yes they do, and if you have an open mind, you will be glad they did so. Usually retail traders see futures as very risky, and therefore assume future options will be even more riskier. With the approach proposed by this book, they can be traded with a well managed risk, much lower than dealing directly with futures.

As they say in the book, when you start checking the marging required to sell future options as opposed to sell equity options, you will realize that you were missing a whole new trading world. Equity options usually require much larger margin, and therefore your ROI is very tiny. With futures options your ROI can be huge, and with a controlled risk. This is why they devote several chapters to introduce you to commodities trading. They explain it clearly and are very honest on what works and what doesn’t.

This book is what you are looking for.

If you’re an options player, who loves the world of options investing, have run the gamut with options plays, you will find this book exceptionally helpful. I wish I had purchased Cordier & Gross’ first book,as I discovered that options selling actually can outperform buying calls and puts, as long as you know the rules. The authors brought the language down to the level of the average investor, and made me feel that if Aunt Ruth can do it, I can do it. Any investor who doesn’t give it a read is missing out on stellar opportunities.

This book is a great read for the saavy investor looking for reasonable returns. It cuts to the chase and tells you all the pitfalls and surprises one can expect when selling options. Option Selling is not for everyone and it does require a large amount of start up money to be successful at it.

Amazing book! Completely changed my views on trading/investing. Must read for anyone wanting more consistency in their trading/investing.

This book is THE best on option selling. There is no hype or salesman type of pump up that other option books publish. If you have the numerous TV ads talking about Option Selling, do yourself a favor. Turn off the TV, pick up this book, educate yourself first to find out what REAL OPTION sellers do. Real option investors are paid to take risk and manage it well.

The book covers the basics and then goes further into details. The book focuses on the Futures/Commodities market using options. I’m an equity options investor, but after the compelling evidence of Options on Futures, I might just be making the switch soon.

In conclusion, this book is aimed for those new to intermediate. If you are looking for complex theories of how to use Delta and Gamma, or using exotic spreads or other more advanced techniques……then DO NOT GET THIS BOOK.

This book simply focuses on 1 simple selling technique. If you are advanced option investor, you KNOW which I’m talking about……
